The Opportunity
Downer's Energy & Utilities business is seeking a Quality Coordinator to support the delivery of our critical Grid Services (Transpower) contracts.
Based in either Palmerston North, Taupo or Taranaki and reporting to the Performance and Quality Manager, you will play a role in ensuring assurance, compliance, and quality outcomes across contract KPIs, administrative requirements, and audit activities. Working closely with Service Delivery Managers, subcontractors, and client stakeholders, you'll contribute to strengthening performance, safety, and customer satisfaction in a high-profile contract environment.
This role is full-time, offering the chance to work with a collaborative and supportive team while contributing to essential infrastructure delivery.
What You'll Do
As the Quality Coordinator, you will:
- Support the delivery of assurance and compliance activities, including audits, management plans, and KPI reporting.
- Manage documentation, competency requirements, and quality systems to ensure contract obligations are met.
- Contribute to client engagement, including resolving non-conformance reports.
- Assist with compliance processes to align with Downer and client requirements.
- Foster positive relationships with subcontractors, suppliers, and internal stakeholders to drive continuous improvement.

What We're Looking For
We are seeking a motivated professional or recent graduate with:
- Attention to detail and excellent problem solving skills
- Time management and organisational skills to meet deadlines
- Strong IT skills including proficiency in Microsoft 365
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills
- Ability to work collaboratively and independently
- Relevant tertiary qualifications or experience in Health and Safety/Quality Management or a related discipline (Desirable)
- Familiarity with transmission construction or maintenance activities (Desirable)
- Knowledge of New Zealand electrical standards and safety regulation (Desirable).
