Utility Arborist

Asplundh is seeking a safety-focused Utility Arborist to work in our New Plymouth branch and work across the region to support vegetation management work on and around powerlines. In this role, you'll help keep electrical infrastructure reliable by assessing vegetation conditions, planning and coordinating work, and partnering closely with line crews, clients, and property owners.

What you'll bring

• Minimum NZQA level 3 or level 4 (or equivalent) in arboriculture
• Minimum 1 year experience
• Minimum class 1 licence
• Knowledge of arboriculture, tree identification, and pruning fundamentals
• Experience using chainsaws, pole saws, wood chippers and other hand tools
• Ability to work outdoors in varying weather and terrain
• Physically fit
• Strong communication skills
• Ability to pass a pre-employment MOJ check, drug and alcohol test and medical.
