Are you a proactive, hands-on property professional who thrives on variety, problem-solving, and keeping things running seamlessly?
Join Alden's National Property Team in this pivotal role supporting the maintenance, refurbishment, and compliance of our care homes and villages across New Zealand.
About the Role Based in our Auckland Viaduct Harbour Support Office, this is a full-time role (Monday-Friday, 8:00 am-5:00 pm) with on-call roster participation. You'll take ownership of a portfolio of sites, ensuring property maintenance, refurbishment projects, and compliance requirements are delivered on time, within budget, and to a high standard. This is a fast-paced, hands-on role where no two days look the same.
What You'll Be Doing
- Managing day-to-day maintenance across your allocated portfolio
- Coordinating contractors to deliver repairs, refurbishments, and upgrades efficiently
- Overseeing helpdesk requests, quotes, approvals, and job completion
- Managing room, village, and larger property refurbishment projects end-to-end
- Ensuring building compliance (fire systems, inspections, evacuation readiness, equipment testing)
- Managing Test & Tag and medical equipment compliance requirements
- Monitoring asset performance and reporting on maintenance and replacement indicators
- Managing supplier relationships, contracts, and cost control
- Supporting health & safety compliance across all property activities
- Participating in an on-call roster for after-hours support
What You'll Bring
- Experience in property, facilities, maintenance, or trades environments
- Strong coordination and project management capability
- Solid understanding of building compliance and health & safety obligations
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to multitask and prioritise
- A proactive, solutions-focused mindset — you think on your feet
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office
- Professionalism, maturity, and the ability to handle confidential information
