Cambridge ITM is a locally owned building supplies merchant servicing builders, tradies, and construction companies across the Waikato. We pride ourselves on strong relationships, practical solutions, and backing our customers to get the job done right.

We're looking for an experienced Business Development Manager to grow and manage a portfolio of key trade customers and drive new business opportunities in the region.

About the role

This is a hands-on, relationship-focused role where you'll be out in the field working closely with builders and construction companies.

Key responsibilities include:

• Managing and growing an established customer base
• Developing new business opportunities across the Waikato
• Building strong, long-term relationships with builders and construction companies
• Preparing pricing, quotes, and proposals in collaboration with the branch team
• Identifying opportunities to increase product range and account penetration
• Working closely with operations and sales support to deliver excellent service

About you

You'll be someone who knows the industry and the people in it.

You'll bring:

• Proven experience in account management or business development within a builders merchant or building supplies environment
• Established relationships with builders and construction companies in the Waikato
• Strong commercial awareness and negotiation skills
• A proactive, self-motivated approach with excellent time management
• Solid communication skills and a professional, trustworthy manner
• Experience and knowledge of building materials and products
• Have computer Literacy skills
• A current full NZ driver's licence
