Trade Sales Coordinator

CARTERS Wairarapa is on the lookout for a motivated On-the-Go Sales Representative to service our customers across the Wairarapa and surrounding areas.

This dual-function position splits equally between two key areas- On-the-Go Representative, visiting customer building sites out in the field, and Trade Sales, serving at the branch counter and handling enquiries via phone and email. You will spend 50% of your time building face-to-face relationships with trade customers on site, and the other 50% at the branch delivering excellent counter service and responding to inbound enquiries. Out in the field you will manage a weekly/fortnightly call cycle ensuring customers have what they need, such as fasteners, glues, drill bits and hand tools. Back at the branch, your focus will be to support customers with product advice and work with your team to exceed expectations.

To be successful in this role, you must have strong communication skills, comfortable manoeuvring through busy streets and accessing building sites with health and safety always a top priority.

What you'll bring:

• A strong customer service focus and natural relationship-building ability
• Sales drive with the ability to identify and act on opportunities
• Good organisation and time management to run an effective call cycle
• Confidence handling customer enquiries at the counter, by phone and email
• Experience in the building or timber industry is a bonus, but not essential
• A Full NZ Driver Licence
