We're seeking a hands-on Instrumentation & Automation Technician to support a highly specialised, accredited dairy laboratory. This role suits someone who enjoys complex equipment, automation, and being the technical go‑to when it matters most.
**Role Available: ** Instrumentation & Automation Technician - Dairy Laboratory Hamilton - regular travel between two sites
**What You'll Be Doing: ** Maintain, fault-find, and repair analytical, microbiology, and automated lab equipment. Service and support FOSS dairy testing platforms, including FTIR analysers and bacterial/somatic cell counters. Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, fluid-handling, and software faults. Support and maintain custom-built robotic and automation systems. Carry out calibration, QC checks, and preventive maintenance to IANZ standards. Manage maintenance records, asset registers, and fault tickets using Jira/Confluence. Liaise with external vendors and technical support teams.
**What You Need: ** Proven experience servicing precision analytical, scientific, or industrial equipment. **Hands-on FOSS platform knowledge is essential. ** Strong fault-diagnosis skills across multi-discipline systems. Experience with fluid-handling systems (pumps, tubing, valves) Ability to read technical manuals, wiring diagrams, and schematics. PLC, automation, robotics, or laboratory instrumentation experience highly advantageous. Full NZ driver licence.
