Laboratory Technician - Fixed Term

We are looking for a Laboratory Technician to join our Geochemistry team on a fixed‑term basis for six months. This is a fixed term role for 6 months based in Westport.

In this role, you will assist with the preparation, analysis, and reporting of Geochemistry samples while maintaining high quality and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities

*Receive, register, prepare, analyse, and report samples in line with laboratory standard operating procedures *Ensure results are reported accurately and within required timeframes *Maintain rigorous quality and documentation practices *Work closely with the Laboratory Manager and Quality Manager to support efficiency and risk management *Carry out all work in accordance with Health & Safety requirements *Undertake other tasks relevant to the role as required

About You

• Previous experience preparing, analysing, and reporting samples (preferred)
• Qualifications in a science‑related discipline are desirable but not essential
• 2 to 5 years’ experience as a Laboratory Technician in a commercial Laboratory with high sample volumes and quick turnaround times/or Industrial Laboratory
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work accurately under time pressure
• Ability to maintain clear and accurate records *Good computer skills, with confidence in report writing and verbal communication
• A team player with good organisational and time‑management skills.
