Mechanical/ HVAC Maintenance Technician

Purpose of the Role

The Mechanical Maintenance Technician is responsible for the ongoing maintenance of mechanical, plumbing, HVAC, air, water, and refrigeration systems across multiple customer sites.

This role ensures client facilities operate safely, efficiently, and reliably through routine maintenance, inspections, testing, and fault rectification. The position suits someone from a maintenance, plumbing, or HVAC background who enjoys variety, autonomy, and hands-on technical work.

Availability required between 6:00am and 6:00pm.

What You Will Do (Key Responsibilities)

• Perform routine mechanical, plumbing, and HVAC maintenance across customer sites
• Carry out inspections, testing, and preventative maintenance on air, water, and refrigeration systems
• Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve minor mechanical or plumbing faults on-site
• Escalate complex or critical issues to the Maintenance Manager
• Complete maintenance reports, service records, and compliance documentation
• Ensure all work is completed safely and in accordance with company procedures and NZ regulations
• Work closely with the Maintenance Manager, Maintenance Coordinator, and wider plumbing team
• Liaise professionally with clients and site contacts when required
• Identify and recommend improvements to improve system performance, reliability, and safety

What We Are Looking For

• Trade qualification or certification in Mechanical, Plumbing, Refrigeration, HVAC, or a related field
• Minimum 2–3 years’ experience in maintenance, plumbing, HVAC, or mechanical services
• Experience working across multiple sites or client environments preferred
• Strong hands-on experience maintaining air, water, and refrigeration systems
• Proven fault-finding and troubleshooting ability
• Sound understanding of health and safety and compliance requirements
• Ability to work independently and manage your workload effectively
• Confident communication skills for reporting issues and dealing with clients
• Experience with maintenance or reporting systems is an advantage
• Avaliable to work within 6:00am – 6:00pm
• A clean police record
