Winter Services is a quality-driven refrigeration, HVAC and mechanical electrical team. Our clients consistently tell us they are impressed with the service they get from our team, and we are looking for someone who will build on that reputation and lift the standard even further.
This is an active, hands-on role. You will be on the tools, supporting the team day to day, and owning service delivery across refrigeration and HVAC.
Key responsibilities
- Train and develop technicians and apprentices, lifting capability and confidence across the team
- Lead daily planning and prioritising to meet client deadlines and reduce call-backs
- Stay on the tools, leading from the front on complex fault-finding and high-standard repairs
- Maintain clear communication with clients and internal stakeholders, including proactive updates
- Set the standard for quality assurance: tidy workmanship, testing, commissioning, photos and job notes
- Manage escalations and repeat issues by finding root causes and implementing permanent fixes
- Scope and quote service work and small projects, including labour, parts and scheduling
- Improve systems and processes, including Simpro workflows, job documentation, and service checklists
- Support compliance requirements and safe work practices across sites
About you
- Applicants must have 5 years post-qualification experience or 10 years total experience in the trade
- Proven refrigeration and HVAC experience with strong fault-finding ability
- Confident leader who enjoys training others and building a high-performing team
- Quality-first mindset and pride in presentation, workmanship, and customer experience
- Organised, reliable, and calm under pressure, with a focus on getting results
- Strong communication skills and the ability to manage expectations early
- Relevant trade qualifications and a full NZ driver licence
- IQP registration is a bonus, or a willingness to work towards it
