Foreman Welder

• $40+ per hour for the right foreman-level welder

We're recruiting on behalf of a well-established New Zealand manufacturer that's prominent in the agricultural industry, specialising in the fabrication of agricultural and farm equipment. They're looking for an experienced Foreman Welder to lead from the front—hands-on on the tools while coordinating the team to deliver quality work safely and on time.

Pay rate: $40+ per hour for the right candidate (based on experience, tickets, and leadership capability).

The role This is a working foreman position where you'll take ownership of day-to-day fabrication and welding activities, support production targets, and maintain high standards across safety and workmanship. You'll be the go-to person on the floor/site to keep the job moving and the team aligned. Key responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate a team of welders/fabricators (hands-on leadership)
• Read and interpret drawings/specs and plan daily work activities
• Allocate tasks, manage workflow, and ensure productivity and quality standards are met
• Welding and fabrication (MIG/TIG/ARC) including fit-up, finishing, and rework management
• Drive H&S culture: toolbox talks, task planning, housekeeping, and safe work practices
• Liaise with supervisors/management to resolve technical and workflow issues
• Mentor apprentices and junior staff, setting expectations and lifting capability

What we're looking for

• Proven experience as a leading hand/foreman welder, or a senior welder ready to step up
• Strong welding and fabrication background (MIG/TIG/ARC)
• Excellent ability to read drawings and work to specification
• Confident leading a team: communication, planning, and accountability
• Strong safety focus and quality mindset
• Relevant welding qualifications/tickets are highly regarded (and any additional site tickets are a bonus)
• Reliable, consistent, and proud of your workmanship
