Location: McMurdo Station, Antarctica, Full Time, On Site, Summer season (Estimated October 2026 - Feb 2027)

This is a full on-site deployment. You will live and work on the ice for the duration of the assignment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Diagnose, repair, and perform scheduled preventive maintenance on boiler systems including hydronic, hot water, and steam HVAC systems
  • Maintain boiler systems in accordance with ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code requirements
  • Maintain, monitor, troubleshoot, and repair boilers, heat exchangers, pumps, controls, air handlers, commercial steam kitchen equipment, and zone valves
  • Inspect glycol and steam lines for damage
  • Maintain, repair, and regulate fuel lines and air adjustments for boilers
  • Monitor, repair, and maintain boiler control systems
  • Respond to emergency service calls during and outside normal working hours
  • Communicate job progress and material or labour requirements to the Supervisor
  • Work from job plans, drawings, schematics, wiring diagrams, manuals, and specifications
  • Perform other duties as required

Required Qualifications and Experience

  • MUST have valid working rights in New Zealand (No sponsorship is available for this role, WHV is acceptable with relevant experience only)
  • Successful completion of medical, dental, drug screening, and background checks
  • Relevant Qualifications
  • Minimum three years' experience in boiler operation and maintenance of hydronic and steam HVAC systems
  • Documented experience in construction, repair, or maintenance of commercial, residential, or industrial boiler systems
