Boat Builder / Marine Cabinet Maker

Voodoo Yachts have vacancies available for skilled Boat Builders and Cabinet Makers keen to work on high end, luxury new-build vessels. We have a full range of roles from composite construction through to producing high end finishing cabinetry details and everything in between.

Voodoo Yachts specialize in building world leading hydrofoil assisted, high speed expedition cruisers in the 60ft to 95ft size range, finished to the highest standard.

We are looking for skilled and hardworking tradesmen and tradeswomen, with the right attitude to join our expanding team. Because of the wide ranging nature of the work involved with boat building and cabinetmaking tasks, job descriptions can be tailored to match skill and ability. Qualifications and/or trade experience in boat building, cabinet making or building are required. Previous experience in the marine industry is desirable but not necessary for the right candidate. This position in for mid / senior level tradesmen who is prepared to have some supervision responsibility in the future. Is not suitable for candidates with no previous experience

You will need:

• New Zealand Certificate in Boat Building – Composites and/or a minimum of 4 years’ experience in some or all of the following: boat building, laminating, infusion, cabinetmaking, building, interior fit out, marine construction techniques, teak construction, upholstery tailoring, working of engineered stone, acrylic solid surface products, other tasks as requirements of projects dictate.
• To have good timekeeping skills
• A good eye for detail
• To be highly motivated and reliable
• A high standard of workmanship
• Work in a state of cleanliness and tidiness
• To be a team player
• Excellent time management skills
• Be flexible and have a willingness to develop new skills
• An awareness of health and safety
• Great attitude
