We’re looking for experienced Finishing Carpenters to join a residential company based in Tauranga. This is a great opportunity to work on a well-organised site, surrounded by nature, with all units being built in one location and no constant site hopping.
Details Location: Tauranga Start date: Immediate start available Pay rate: $38–43 per hour on contract; or $32-35 on wages.
About the role You’ll be involved in high-quality residential construction, focusing on finishing work while also supporting all-round building tasks. The role suits someone proud of their workmanship and confident leading a small team to deliver consistent results.
Key duties
- Interior finishing and fix-out work on residential builds
- Installing kitchens, bathroom cabinetry, vanities, and fittings
- Hanging doors, fitting hardware, skirtings, architraves, and trims
- Bathroom and laundry finishing with a high level of detail
- Residential framing and general carpentry as required
- Working from plans, specifications, and site instructions
- Delivering high-quality workmanship throughout all stages
- Leading and mentoring one to two other team members
- Coordinating tasks to keep work flowing efficiently
- Maintaining a tidy and safe work site
What we’re looking for
- Qualified carpenter or strong finishing carpentry experience
- Solid residential building background
- High attention to detail and pride in workmanship
- Proven kitchen and bathroom fit-out experience
- All-round carpentry skills including framing
- Ability to work independently and manage tasks
- Confidence leading and supervising one to two others
- Strong health and safety awareness
