Are you hands-on, practical, and take pride in detailed workmanship? We’re looking for a Retroglazier to join our award-winning glass company, installing the innovative Thermawood RetroGlazing System in beautiful heritage homes.
This is a unique and interesting role combining glazing and basic woodworking skills, perfect for someone who enjoys working on character properties and delivering high-quality finishes.
About the Role
You’ll be installing the Thermawood retroglazing system into existing timber windows, helping homeowners improve energy efficiency while preserving the original charm of their homes. Every project is different, and much of our work is carried out on heritage and character houses.
What We’re Looking For
- Basic woodworking skills are essential
- Confident using a saw, drill, and router
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Pride in producing neat, accurate workmanship
- Good communication and customer service skills
Glazing experience is a bonus — but not required. Full training will be provided on the Thermawood system and our installation processes.

Thermawood Canterbury is currently seeking people who would like to join our growing team of specialists replacing single glazing with quality double glazing using the patented Thermawood System. The Thermawood system has been designed in New Zealand specifically for retroglazing timber frames, ensuring the frames are protected from water penetration once the retroglazing process is complete. Thermawood is a building code compliant system preventing water penetration and ensuring the finished sash is weatherproof.
