Base yourself in the outdoor adventure, thermal pools tourist town of Hanmer Springs, 130kms north of Christchurch, or anywhere around, as you will be working throughout North Canterbury.
You’ll be part of a small team doing a big range of carpentry tasks, including residential, commercial, maintenance, repairs and renovations.
Plenty of forward work. You need to be a good all-rounder with a good work ethic. This is a permanent full-time job (40 hours+). However, consideration would be given to a fixed term, or even part-time.
They are very busy and need an experienced trade-qualified Carpenter. An excellent hourly rate negotiable depending on experience.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Carry out a wide range of carpentry tasks, including general residential, commercial, maintenance, repairs and renovation building work
- To work closely with the Owner and a small team (or alone), on building and other projects
- Assist Owner with quotes if required
REQUIREMENTS:
- A trade qualified carpenter (NZ Certificate in Carpentry (level 4) or similar
- At least four years+ experience as a carpenter
- A solid knowledge of the NZ Building Code, industry standards, regulations and best practice
- A strong knowledge of construction techniques and project management
- Able to read and interpret building plans and specifications
- Able to work independently to a very standard
- Physically fit, able to lift and move heavy loads safely
- Committed to maintaining a healthy and safe workplace
- A positive attitude, organised and able to meet deadlines
- An adaptable, versatile all-rounder, willing to turn their hand to most things
- A full New Zealand or International Driver’s licence
- A good level of spoken English
- You must be a New Zealand/Resident or hold a valid NZ work visa which does not require sponsorship or a variation
While visa sponsorship is not offered, if you are already in New Zealand on a Working Holiday Visa, or similar, this may be an option at some point if you meet the criteria and can prove your capabilities.
