A busy family building company is looking for a competent person with experience to provide general labouring and building support to the Owner. It's full time, it's Monday to Friday and it's a good rate of pay.
Base yourself in the outdoor adventure, thermal pools tourist town of Hanmer Springs, 130kms north of Christchurch, or anywhere around, as you will be working throughout North Canterbury.
You’ll be part of a small team doing a big range of labouring tasks, including working on residential, commercial, maintenance, repairs and renovations.
Plenty of forward work. You need to be a good all-rounder, physically fit, with a good work ethic. This is a permanent full-time job (40 hours+). However, consideration would be given to a fixed term, or even part-time.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assist the team with building and other projects
- Undertake general labouring jobs such as digging holes and trenching
- Building site preparation and set-up, including demolition, erecting scaffolding, ladders etc
- Undertake general labouring tasks, including digging holes/footings, trenching, taking delivery, storing, or moving materials and equipment on site
- Assist with the erection of building framing and structures, including beams, portals, walls, floors ceilings and posts
- Maintain and clean- up worksites
- Clean work areas, machines, and equipment in order to maintain a clean and safe work site at all times
- Move and lift heavy loads safely
- Operate power tools and other equipment safely and as directed or required
REQUIREMENTS:
- Physically fit, with good stamina, able to lift and move heavy loads safely
- Able to working outside, under all weather conditions
- Able to handle a range of powered and other hand tools
- Able to work at heights
- A general all-rounder, willing to turn their hand to most things
- A full New Zealand or International Driver’s licence
- Able to listen, understand, to follow and to action instructions
- Keen to learn, to develop skills and with a positive attitude – a self-starter
- To be reliable, on time, with a good work ethic
- Good communication skills
- Trustworthy and honest
- A good level of spoken English
- You must be a New Zealand/Resident or hold a valid NZ work visa which does not require sponsorship or a variation
