About Us Hoffman Building and Construction is a family-owned business, based in Hamilton, who specialise in residential renovations, new builds, cladding, decking, fencing. We are currently a small team - co-owner and head builder, Connor and an apprentice. Being part of a small team means that you will have the support and direct guidance of an experienced builder on site, and you will also have the opportunity to teach and support the apprentice. About the Role We are seeking a qualified Builder to join our team in Hamilton. The ideal candidate will have:

• Proven hands-on building experience, with appropriate qualification
• Strong work ethic, reliability, and pride in workmanship
• Ability to work as part of a team and take initiative on site
• Commitment to health & safety standards

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out building, construction, and renovation work to a high professional standard
• Interpret and work from construction plans, drawings, and specifications
• Ensure all work complies with the New Zealand Building Code and relevant regulations
• Coordinate with subcontractors, suppliers, and site managers
• Maintain a safe and tidy worksite, adhering to all health & safety requirements
• Problem-solve onsite issues and contribute to efficient project delivery
• Communicate effectively with clients and team members

Requirements

• Relevant New Zealand building qualification (e.g., NZ Certificate in Carpentry (Level 4) or equivalent overseas qualification recognised in NZ)
• Minimum 4 years’ experience in the building or construction industry
• Strong understanding of NZ building standards, codes, and best practices
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Good physical fitness and practical problem-solving abilities
• Full New Zealand driver licence

Preferred Skills

• Experience in both new builds and renovations
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
• Good time-management and organisational skills
• First Aid Certificate
