Tradestaff have a variety of Carpentry jobs across Waikato with a demand for experienced residential and commercial carpenters/joiner. Waikato will be the predominate area of work for this role – however you may also be required to work in Wellington, Hawkes Bay, Bay of Plenty and Auckland, Gisborne and Manawatu-Whanganui. This will be discussed further with the successful applicant.

We require Carpenters/Builders/Joiners from all backgrounds that include, but are not limited to:

• Experience in Residential, Commercial and Civil Carpentry
• Shuttering joinery (including steel-tying)
• Framing, steel framing
• 1st, 2nd and final fix
• Roofing timbers/roofing joinery/wall framing
• Experience in joinery/cabinetmaking - either on site or in a factory environment – windows and doors, staircases, bespoke timber joinery
• The ability to read and set out from basic plans for installations
• The ability to use various woodworking machinery such as jigsaws, planers, jointers, routers and other hand tools
• The ability to cut, shape and fix panels, plasterboard, timbers, perspex and other materials
• The ability to assemble prepared wood to form structures and fittings ready for installation
• Experience with shop fitouts (preferred but not essential)
• The ability to operate CNC machines and edge banding (preferred but not essential)

Ideally, you will be or have:

• Minimum 3+ years’ experience
• Trade qualifications preferred however scope and length of carpentry/joinery experience may substitute for the formal qualification
• Your own tools
• Own reliable transport
• At least 2 work references
• 100% commitment to Health & Safety
• Able to pass a pre-employment drug test
• Class 1 preferred but not essential

In return we offer competitive rates of pay, varied and challenging work, regular hours with a guaranteed minimum of 30 hours per week, as well as long-term opportunities.

Minimum pay range $28.00 - $38.00 depending on experience
