KP Building Ltd is a family owned company based in Waitomo with a strong reputation for delivering quality residential construction projects across the region. Due to continued growth and a solid pipeline of work, we are seeking an experienced Foreman to join their team.
About the Role
As Foreman, you will be responsible for supervising construction projects to ensure work is completed on time, within budget and in line with quality and health and safety standards. You will coordinate day-to-day site operations, manage the team and subcontractors, and provide project management to ensure successful delivery.
This role requires strong leadership, practical building knowledge and the ability to problem solve in a fast-paced construction environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee on-site construction activities across multiple stages of projects
- Lead and coordinate site teams, subcontractors and daily operations
- Plan and prioritise workloads to meet project deadlines
- Monitor progress and identify opportunities for improved efficiencies
- Ensure compliance with the Health and Safety at Work Act 2015 and all site safety requirements
- Manage site resources, deliveries and scheduling requirements
- Liaise with the site team regarding progress, risks and issues
- Mentor, support and upskill team members
- Assist with onboarding and training of employees and contractors
- Maintain high-quality workmanship and attention to detail across all projects
About You To be successful in this role, you will be a confident and experienced construction leader with excellent communication and organisational skills. You will take pride in delivering quality outcomes and creating a positive and productive team culture.
Skills and Experience Required
- BCITO qualification or equivalent trade qualification
- Current Licensed Building Practitioner (LBP)
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in a Foreman role within a similar building environment
- Strong leadership experience with the ability to coach, mentor and motivate teams
- Sound knowledge of residential new build construction, renovation, decking and fencing
- Current Site Safe certification
- Strong understanding of New Zealand building legislation, compliance and health and safety obligations
- Excellent time management and organisational skills
- Enjoys working in a supportive and fun team environment
