JOB VACANCY: Construction / Project Manager Position: Construction / Project Manager Industry: Building & Construction Employment Type: Full-time Location: Greymouth Salary: TBD
About the Role: We are seeking an experienced Construction / Project Manager to lead and deliver building projects from planning through to completion. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership abilities, excellent communication skills, and a proven track record of running successful construction projects on time, on budget, and to a high standard.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage all phases of construction projects, including planning, scheduling, budgeting and onsite coordination.
- Lead and supervise contractors, subcontractors, and onsite staff.
- Prepare and maintain project documentation, reports, and progress updates.
- Liaise with clients, engineers, architects, and regulatory authorities.
- Ensure all work complies with building codes and quality standards. Strong attention to detail.
- Monitor project costs and variations; manage procurement and supplier relationships.
- Identify risks and implement mitigation strategies.
- Drive project timelines and ensure milestones are met.
- Ensure all work undertaken in compliance with all Health and Safety (H & S) regulations and our companies H & S requirements are actively participated in and followed.
Skills & Experience Required:
- Proven experience as a Construction / Project Manager (or relevant senior site role).
- Trade qualification, construction management degree, or equivalent experience.
- Strong understanding of building codes, regulations and industry standards.
- Excellent organisational and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to read and interpret construction plans and technical drawings.
- Strong communication/people skills and leadership abilities. A team player.
- Competence with project management software Procure and Site Docs. However, not essential as training will be provided.
- Excellent and accurate record keeping.
- Current driver’s licence.
- Experience in residential / commercial / civil construction
- Knowledge of NZ Building Code & Consenting Processes
- NZ Residency and minimum of 5 years experience in the Building Industry in NZ
