Support campus dining by assisting with food service, cleaning, and customer care during term time in a fast-paced hospitality environment.
Mō te tūka | The role
Love working in a busy kitchen environment? Join our Food, Beverage & Conferencing team and help deliver exceptional dining experiences for students, staff, and visitors. This is aterm-time only position, giving you a great work-life balance with scheduled breaks during university holidays. You’ll provide hands-on support in the kitchen and cafés, ensuring everything runs smoothly and to a high standard.
Some tasks of the role include:
- Cleaning cooking equipment and utensils
- Operating the conveyor dishwasher for crockery and cutlery
- Changing oil and cleaning deep fryers
- Keeping floors clean and safe
- Cleaning chillers and shelving
- Assisting with general kitchen duties as directed
Permanent role, 40 hours per week (1.0 FTE) working term time only at our Lincoln Campus. Hours: Monday – Friday: 9:00 AM – 5:30 PM.Salary: $59,192 per annum (pro-rated for term-time), approx. $28.38 per hour
Kā tino Pūkeka/Whēako | Essential skills/experience for the role
You will have:
- NCEA Level 1 or equivalent hospitality experience (an advantage)
- Ability to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines
- Clear communication skills with staff and customers
- Good organisational skills and problem-solving ability
- A high level of honesty and integrity
