Description

Registered Electrician — Commercial & Agricultural Solar Be part of a company built on integrity, purpose, and excellence.

At Sunergy Solar, we’re leading New Zealand’s commercial and agricultural solar industry with a focus on three pillars that define everything we do: Environmental Responsibility, Social Impact, and Quality.

From our Rangiora HQ, we design, supply, and install large-scale solar systems for notable businesses and organisations across New Zealand. Every project we deliver is a reflection of our commitment to craftsmanship, technical precision, and kaitiakitanga — genuine guardianship of people and the environment.

We’re proudly Toitū Diamond Certified and Tōtika Health & Safety Certified, setting the benchmark for environmental and operational excellence in our industry.

The Opportunity We’re seeking a Registered Electrician who takes pride in doing things right the first time, and who shares our belief that quality and integrity matter more than shortcuts. You’ll join a high-performing team delivering some of the most respected commercial and agri solar projects in New Zealand. This is hands-on work that blends technical skill with leadership and teamwork.

Your work will include:

  • Leading or supporting installation teams delivering large commercial and agricultural solar and battery systems, up to and exceeding 1 MW.
  • Carrying out full electrical installation work including sub-mains, distribution boards, control and generator wiring, and inverter integration.
  • Commissioning and testing complex systems including 1,000 V DC solar arrays, communication networks, and control interfaces, so confidence with IT and networking is an advantage.
  • Building and installing cable tray, trunking, and trench systems, often operating machinery where required (WTR and Class 2 training provided).
  • Ensuring compliance with all electrical, safety, and environmental standards, maintaining Sunergy’s reputation for absolute quality.
  • Mentoring apprentices and helping develop a high-performing, professional team driven by integrity and shared purpose.

Who We’re Looking For You’ll fit right in at Sunergy if you:

  • Are a Registered Electrician with a passion for renewable energy and technical excellence.
  • Have a calm, methodical approach and thrive under pressure without letting standards slip.
  • Care deeply about the environment and believe quality workmanship is part of sustainability.
  • Take ownership of your work and are committed to doing things properly.
  • Enjoy working alongside people who are equally driven, respectful, and collaborative.
  • Bring initiative, practical problem-solving, and a desire to keep learning. Solar experience is beneficial, but the right person with strong electrical fundamentals, leadership, and drive will be supported to develop solar-specific expertise.

Why Join Sunergy Solar:

  • Be part of a team that values quality, integrity, and sustainability.
  • Work on high profile, meaningful projects for respected clients across New Zealand.
  • Competitive remuneration reflective of your skill and attitude.
  • Opportunities to grow — technically and professionally — as the company scales.
  • A workplace culture where respect, teamwork, and pride in the job are non-negotiable.
  • Be part of a team whose work genuinely contributes to New Zealand’s low-carbon future.

If you’re an electrician who believes great work speaks for itself — and you want to help build a cleaner, better future — we’d like to hear from you.
