Working Workshop Foreman - Auckland

We are looking for a motivated, well-organized, and hands-on Working Foreman to join our small, dedicated team at S & S Security Solutions in Māngere, Auckland.

In this role, you’ll work closely with our customers, technicians, and management team to ensure deadlines are completed on time, within scope, and to a high standard. You’ll take a leading role in the workshop whilst assisting the organisation of the workflow. Support and motivate our small team of 5 technicians, whilst maintaining excellent standards of workmanship, productivity, motivation and safety.

Key Skills

• Have some experience or interest in general 12/24V electrical systems and associated skills to diagnose and repair.
• Enjoy being hands - on with a practical and methodical approach to a variety of tasks.
• Allocate daily jobs that have been pre scheduled and assist in the daily workflow for the team.
• Be able to order required parts and liaise with suppliers as and when required.
• Have basic computer skills and the ability to use or quickly learn new programmes, such as Simpro, Microsoft Suite, Google Suite and other online tools.
• Have some skills or interest in being able to create and program 3D print files, CAD design or drawing work, would be beneficial but not essential.
• Be competent and comfortable using general work tools, e.g. electric screwdriver, drill, grinder, rivet gun etc.
• Have the ability and confidence to talk with customers, business contacts and co-workers in a professional manner.
• Have the ability to problem solve and think on your feet.
• Be well organised for yourself and the team with the ability to set deadlines and meet these.
• Be able to partake in some domestic and international travel where and when required, sometimes at short notice.

About You

• Proven experience in a foreman or team leader role (preferably in a workshop or trade environment).
• Strong leadership and organisational skills.
• A positive, hands-on attitude with a focus on teamwork to get results.
• Excellent communication and time management skills.
• Hold a current New Zealand class 1 full license. Other licenses (e.g. heavy vehicle license) would be beneficial but not essential.
• Be ready to make a long term commitment and take advantage of the career progression within a rapidly growing company.
• Be fluent in English both written and spoken.
• Be a New Zealand resident or have the current work visa, this is a requirement. Please do not apply if you are overseas and do not already have a visa.
• A proactive practical leader who can lead by example.
