Civil Estimator

ConsultANZis seeking an experienced Civil Estimator with a strong background in tendering for projects such as roading, sealing, drainage, pavements, and similar works. This is an opportunity to join a leading civil engineering company in Christchurch renowned for delivering high-quality projects across various civil sectors, including roading and infrastructure. Key Responsibilities

• Prepare subcontract and material inquiries and review quotations.
• Manage project costs throughout the project lifecycle.
• Perform cost planning, bills of quantity preparation, measuring, and contract administration.
• Ensure labour and plant resources in the cost estimate align with the tender program.
• Provide accurate commercial advice to Construction Managers, Project Managers, and senior management.
• Prepare commercial tenders for client submission.
• Present commercial handover documents to the contract delivery team.
• Collaborate with construction teams to collect and analyze output and resource data for future tenders. Requirements
• Tertiary qualification in Civil Engineering or a construction-related field.
• Minimum of 7+ years’ experience in roads, pavements, asphalt sealing, drainage, and similar projects.
• Proficiency in estimation software such as CostX, Benchmark, Excel, and Candy CCS.
• Proven track record of successfully estimating and winning large-scale projects.
• Strong understanding of engineering techniques and construction processes.
• Ability to manage multiple tenders or a single high-value tender effectively.
• Skilled in quantification and familiar with standard measurement methods and contract forms.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to convey information professionally and confidently. Benefits:
• An attractive salary package is on offer, ranging from $130,000 to $160,000 plus a company car, negotiable based on experience.
