About the Role

We are currently seeking to employ an Electrician to join our team based in Invercargill. In this role, you will provide an electrical trade's service to Omexom, covering the full range of electrical services expected of a qualified electrician.

• Performing high voltage maintenance and construction work to client specifications
• Responding to emergency fault breakdown work within response times
• Installing substation and other high voltage equipment as per job instructions and specifications
• Installing and testing earthing systems in accordance with regulations and standards, and completing necessary documentation
• Installing switchboards to current regulations, standards, energy requirements and specifications
• Ensuring optimal reliability and performance of the client's plant and equipment by completing projects and maintenance work on time and to requirement
• Flexibility required in dealing with adverse weather, resource, materials and other conditions
• Understanding and implementing the company health and safety policy and taking reasonable care of own health and safety and the heath and safety of others
• Setting a personal example on all matters of health and safety and participate in Perimeter/BU worker participation practices

Qualifications, Experience, Knowledge and Skills Required

• A trade qualification as electrician and registration as an electrician with current practising licence preferred
• High Voltage experience would be an advantage, but more importantly is your ability to interpret and understand wiring diagrams and build systems from the ground up
• Full High Voltage training will be provided
• Hands-on experience in commercial, industrial or high voltage electrical work to industry standards
• A thorough knowledge of current regulatory and industry requirements pertaining to the carrying out of all prescribed electrical work to industry standards
• Possess a valid full clean Class 1 NZ driver's license
• An absolute commitment to working safely
• Be self-motivated and proactive
• Can manage time and priorities
• Possess a "can-do" attitude
• Works well within a team environment or independently
