Te kōwhiringa | The Opportunity Our Network Services team supports some of Aotearoa's largest energy providers, helping maintain and enhance the infrastructure that powers our communities.
We're currently looking for Full Time, Permanent Electricians and Electrical Fitters to join this team in New Plymouth, delivering substation and electrical work across the region's network. You'll be joining us at an exciting time as we open our brand new office from Bell Block in May!
With new leadership in place and the team expanding, this is a great opportunity to be part of a growing, high-performing crew delivering essential network services.
As the Tier 1 contractor for Powerco in the region, we work across a wide variety of jobs including:
- Substation construction and upgrade projects
- Maintenance and replacement of network equipment
- Fault diagnosis and rectification across the electrical network
- Defective equipment work and asset upgrades
- Network upgrades and installations
- Supporting the after-hours faults roster to respond to network outages
This role offers variety, technical challenge and the opportunity to work on critical infrastructure that keeps communities powered - along with great pay and even better earning potential through penalty rates and allowances!

Nga pūkenga matua | Important Skills You're a skilled electrician or electrical fitter who takes pride in safe, quality workmanship. You thrive on a challenge, and are willing to support the team when needed - including having the opportunity to join a 1-in-4 after-hours roster to help respond to unplanned power outages.
You will bring:
- EWRB Registration with a current practising licence
- NZQA Level 4 Electrical qualification
- Current Class 1 driver's licence required - Class 2 beneficial
- Strong working knowledge of SMEI and safe electrical work practices
- Ability to clearly communicate and complete safety documentation (WMS, JSEA)
- Previous network, substation or utilities experience desirable
