Gardener

We are looking for a responsible gardener for our gardening business based in South Auckland to perform a variety of routine tasks in propagating, cultivating and maintaining plants in gardens and performing some landscape activities.

Our ideal candidate should be physically fit and able to lift heavy garden stuff. The business is open 7 days a week and the roles require working early start, weekends and public holidays. You should have a clean driver’s license and readiness for pre-employment drug test. Must have ride on experience

Benefits

• Wages - $26-$32/hour
• Working Hours - Min 30 hrs/week

Requirements

• Level 4- Trade Certificate or Diploma is required.
• OR at least two years of relevant experience is required.

Job Duties Tasks Include: *pruning trees and hedges, and installing plant support and protection devices *preparing and maintaining seedbeds and growing sites *propagating and planting trees, bushes, hedges, flowers and bulbs *preparing lawn areas by spreading top soil and planting grass, and by laying instant turf *maintaining planted and grassed areas by weeding, trimming, fertilising, watering and mowing *preparing plans and drawings, selecting materials and plants, and scheduling landscape construction *constructing gravel and paved areas, walls, fences and ponds *examining trees to assess their condition and determine treatment *lopping limbs off trees and shaping branches using chain and handsaws *spraying and dusting plants and trees to control insects and disease, and felling diseased trees
