Love working outdoors and take pride in creating tidy, well-maintained green spaces? Join Downer as an OSM Gardener and help keep parks, reserves, gardens, and public spaces looking their best.
In this hands-on role, you'll carry out a variety of gardening and landscaping duties including planting, pruning, weed control, edging, mulching, hedge trimming, garden maintenance, and general upkeep across designated client sites. You'll ensure all work is completed to a high standard while maintaining a strong focus on safety, teamwork, and customer service.
No two days are the same - if you enjoy physical outdoor work, being part of a supportive crew, and seeing the results of your work every day, this could be the role for you.
Nga pūkenga matua | Important Skills
You will need to be physically fit, happy to work outdoors, and passionate about gardening and outdoor maintenance, along with the following:
- Full driver's licence (Class 2 an advantage) with experience in gardening, landscaping, or grounds maintenance desirable.
- Confidence using gardening equipment such as hedge trimmers, weed eaters, knapsack sprayers, and other handheld tools.
- Positive, professional, and reliable attitude with strong teamwork skills.
- Ability to work independently, show initiative, and take pride in maintaining outdoor spaces.
- Good communication skills and confidence interacting with the public.
- Willingness to learn, follow safety procedures, and use basic electronic devices for work tasks.
