About the Role – Mō te Tūranga

We’re looking for a full-time Groundsperson to join our team. In this role, you’ll assist our lead gardener in maintaining beautiful gardens and outdoor spaces across the village, ensuring everything looks its best as the seasons change. From mowing lawns and trimming hedges to general grounds maintenance, you’ll help keep our resort-style environment vibrant and welcoming.

This is a fulltime position offering 40 hours per week Monday to Friday 8am – 4.30pm. There is an on-call element to this role that is shared out amongst the team, flexibility is essential to meet the needs of the team and the village.

About You – Ngā Kōrero Mōu

We’re looking for someone who:

• Enjoys working outdoors and takes pride in presentation
• Proven experience in groundskeeping, landscaping, or garden maintenance
• The ability to work independently and as a team, and manage your workload effectively
• Has attention to detail and a commitment to high standards
• Can operate and maintain machinery (e.g., ride-on mower)
• Is physically fit and able to manage hands-on tasks
• Has good communication and excellent customer service skills
• Holds a current, clean driver’s licence
• Is discreet, diplomatic, and a reliable team player
• You want to be a valued team member and can offer a high standard of service and support for our residents
• And most importantly, can share in our core values - Ō Tātou Uara of vision, optimism, respect, equality and honesty, working effectively with people from a range of different cultures.

Applicants must hold NZ residency or a valid NZ work visa.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain lawns, gardens, hedges, trees and planted areas to a high standard
• Carry out seasonal planting, pruning, mulching and garden care
• Operate and maintain gardening equipment safely and efficiently
• Ensure our communal outdoor areas are presented and maintained to a high standard
• Identify and report maintenance or safety issues promptly
• Work respectfully around residents whilst maintaining a friendly and professional presence
• Support special village events with grounds preparation as required
