We're looking for two full-time Facilities Caretakers** to help keep Rolleston College running smoothly, safely, and looking its best.
This is a stable, Monday-Friday role** in a supportive school environment - ideal for someone who enjoys practical work, routine, and being part of a community.
About the Role
Based on-site at Rolleston College, you'll work 40 hours per week**, with 8-hour shifts scheduled between 7:00am and 6:00pm**. Reporting to the Facilities Coordinator, you'll take care of the day-to-day maintenance, cleaning, and upkeep of the school's facilities.
Your work helps create a safe, welcoming space for students, staff, and visitors - and you'll see the results of your efforts every day.
What You'll Be Doing
- Completing general maintenance and work requests
- Carrying out minor repairs, cleaning, and upkeep tasks
- Conducting regular site inspections
- Working alongside contractors and school staff
- Updating jobs and reports using basic computer systems
This Role Is Ideal For Someone Who:
- Enjoys physical, hands-on work and being active
- Has trade, maintenance, or handyman experience (highly regarded)
- Is reliable, practical, and takes ownership of their work
- Communicates well and works comfortably in a team
- Is comfortable working in a school environment
Important Requirements
Because this role is based in a school, the successful applicant will need to:
- Pass police vetting, Ministry of Justice checks, and drug & alcohol screening
- Hold a full, clean NZ Driver's Licence**
- Have the legal right to work in New Zealand
