Handyperson (Part-Time – 20 hours, Thursday to Saturday)

Join the team at Rydges Christchurch Latimer Square and play a key role in maintaining the quality, safety, and presentation of our hotel. Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, you’ll support the day‑to‑day upkeep of the property—ensuring a seamless experience for guests and a safe environment for the team. Key Responsibilities

• Perform general maintenance tasks including plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and repairs
• Conduct routine inspections of guest rooms, public areas, and back‑of‑house spaces
• Repair and maintain furniture, fixtures, and equipment
• Complete painting and touch‑ups to maintain presentation standards
• Respond to maintenance requests and troubleshoot issues efficiently
• Support emergency repairs when required
• Maintain a clean, safe, and compliant working environment
• Assist with fire safety checks and general safety inspections
• Manage maintenance supplies and ensure stock levels are maintained What You’ll Bring
• Proven experience in maintenance, repairs, or a similar role (hotel experience advantageous)
• Broad trade skills across plumbing, electrical, carpentry, or general maintenance
• Strong problem‑solving ability and attention to detail
• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
• Good communication skills and a team‑focused approach
• Flexibility to work Thursdays to Saturdays, including evenings if required How You Work
