About the Role: We’re looking for a self-motivated, reliable, and practical individual to join our team as a Maintenance, Repair & Merchandising Personnel. This is an on-the-road contractor position ideal for someone who enjoys hands-on work and interacting with people. As part of this role, you’ll travel regularly throughout the central and lower North Island, which will include overnight stays. This role is suited to someone who is happy to spend week nights away from home.

Your key responsibilities will include servicing Rug Doctor machines, maintaining tidy and attractive retail displays, and ensuring our equipment and presentation consistently meet high standards.

We provide full training — we just need your positive attitude and willingness to get stuck in!

Key Responsibilities:

• Clean, service, and maintain Rug Doctor machines at various retail locations.
• Merchandise and tidy displays to ensure products look great and are easy to find.
• Build friendly, professional relationships with store staff and customers.
• Communicate regularly with the Rug Doctor team to report on work completed and any issues.

What We’re Looking For:

• A hands-on, practical person who enjoys variety and takes pride in their work.
• Great communication skills and a friendly, approachable attitude.
• Physically fit – some heavy lifting is required.
• Organised, self-motivated, and able to manage your own time.
• A full NZ driver’s licence and access to reliable light commercial van.
• A stable work history and strong references.

Additional Info:

• This is a contractor position – you’ll invoice us for your time and manage your own tax/ACC.
• Suitable for someone with previous experience as a contractor.
• Regular job cycle is usually 5 days work per week, with the occasional 4 day week.
• You’ll be out and about across the central and lower North Island, so being comfortable driving and working independently is essential.
• To be successful a light commercial van is required for this role.
• Background checks are necessary for this role as the position involves high trust, independent work, and handling our equipment.
• We are open to applications from other lower North Island regions.
