General Maintenance Labourer

Yardcare is a specialist outdoor maintenance business with locations in Mangere and Whenuapai. We are experiencing significant growth and looking to expand our team.

We are seeking a reliable person to join our small team working out of our depot in Mangere. This role involves working outdoors in wide variety of tasks. The opportunity for the right person is to join the team at an early stage and to learn and grow with the business.

About the Role:

• Operate power tools and equipment safely and effectively, including water blasters, chainsaws, ride on mowers, weed trimmers, weed spraying, general maintenance and landscaping work.
• Small-medium truck and digger driving – Training provided for the right candidate
• Shuffling and digging, clearing and preparing areas, and relocating materials as required
• Handling hand tools and power tools, tightening and securing structures, and ensuring all components are fastened properly
• Supporting the team with manual tasks

Requirements:

• Full Class 1 NZ Driver's License is a MUST to help escort vehicles into the site.
• Competency with hand and power tools, including weed trimmers and chainsaws
• Commitment to safety and attention to detail
• A good level of physical fitness
• Pass regular drug testing
• No criminal convictions
• Ability to work outdoors in variable environments
• Team-oriented with a strong work ethic
• NZ work permit
• Well spoken English

It also helps if you have the following, however, these are not deal breakers:

• Class 2 - 4 Drivers Licenses and WTR endorsements
• Experience operating a variety of civil machinery
