We are seeking a reliable and hardworking Labourer to join a busy maintenance team in Christchurch. This is a full-time, Monday to Friday role that offers variety across different sites and projects. A key part of the job involves working at heights, so applicants must hold a current Working at Heights certification and be comfortable performing tasks safely above ground level.
About the role: This is a hands-on position where no two days are the same. You’ll be supporting trades staff and supervisors with maintenance and project work, assisting with site set-up and clean-up, handling tools and materials, and carrying out general labouring duties. You’ll also be working safely at heights on building and maintenance tasks, so following procedures and contributing to a strong safety culture is essential.
Key responsibilities:
- Carrying out general labouring duties to support maintenance and project work
- Assisting with site preparation, equipment handling, and clean-up
- Working safely at heights on a range of building and maintenance tasks
- Following health and safety procedures and maintaining tidy work areas
- Supporting trades staff and supervisors on site as required
What we are looking for:
- Current Working at Heights certification (essential)
- Proven ability and confidence working safely at heights
- Strong work ethic, reliability, and physical fitness
- Willingness to learn and take direction from senior staff
- Good communication skills and a positive team attitude
