While our workshop is based in Te Kuiti, our work takes us throughout the Waikato.
Fine WoodWorking manufactured the kitchen/cabinetry for the Waikato House of the Year Supreme Winner 2025
We're looking for a keen, practically minded person to learn joinery skills. We are looking for someone with the following qualities: Minimum of 3-4 years secondary schooling Interest in woodworking, carpentry/ joinery Can work unsupervised and as part of a team Good communication skills An eye for detail and keen to understand plans Common sense with the ability to problem solve Full Driver’s license would be an advantage Be physically fit Commitment to maintaining our reputation for quality
Job Description You’ll be learning to measure, cut, prepare and assemble timber and manufactured board products to make doors, window frames & sashes, furniture & kitchens. You’ll need to be aware your health & safety responsibilities at all times, and be look out for others You’ll be using woodworking tools and machinery You’ll need to be prepared to work unsupervised at times and also as part of a team in our workshop You’ll need to use your communication skills to interact with other team members You’ll need to use your common sense and problem solving ability You’ll be helping load the van & trailer with completed cabinetry etc You’ll be helping with deliveries to site at times
Hours of work - 40 hours per week, (Monday - Friday) Hourly rate between $20 -$30 per hour depending on experience of applicant Immediate start would be ideal.

A bit about Te Kuiti... A rural township centrally located an hour south of Hamilton and 45 mins from Cambridge, an hour from Mokau, Marokopa and Kawhia beaches. Hunting & fishing and other recreational activities are all close by. Taupo and the ski fields are an hour and a half away. There are five Primary Schools, and one High School servicing the town and houses are still affordable! Come and see for yourself!
