The opportunity

We have an important job maintaining our most precious assets - water, health, and the environment - and this is your chance to be involved.

Our water teams play a critical role in ensuring a continual supply of quality water with minimal interruptions to communities. No two days will be the same as you head out across the Wellington region undertaking a mix of planned and reactive works where you will:

  • Install and repair water connections on all sizes of mains
  • Ensure all work is carried out in accordance with trade practice
  • Flush and charge water mains
  • Work together with various teams and contractors to achieve results

About you

To be successful in this role, you will bring the following:

  • Experience in the water industry or the civil/construction industry, with the ability to use hand tools, small plant, and machinery
  • The ability to use technology (for example, an iPad or tablet) to record information
  • An understanding of, and commitment to, health and safety in the workplace
  • A full, clean driver's licence (minimum Class 1). Class 2 and W, T, F endorsements would be advantageous
  • First Aid, Confined Spaces, and Working at Heights certificates would be beneficial
  • Reliability and a strong, hard-working attitude
  • The flexibility to work on a roster that includes shift work and on-call duties

Fulton Hogan works in partnership with Wellington Water (an alliance) to improve three waters services across Greater Wellington. The mission: Keeping our communities healthy by delivering water services safely every day. We bring that mission into our daily work.

The alliance outcomes are delivered through a combined workforce between Wellington Water and Fulton Hogan, enabling shared resourcing and innovative solutions for the region's water networks.

Wellington Water's job is to provide safe and healthy drinking water, collect and treat wastewater, and ensure the stormwater network is well managed. This is done on behalf of their six council owners.
