Description

As an Excavator Operator, you will be responsible for operating excavators and other specialist machinery to process, sort, and handle scrap materials efficiently and safely. You will play a key role in ensuring operational standards, safety requirements, and quality controls are consistently met.

Key Responsibilities

Operate excavators and specialist equipment including balers, scrap handlers, and alligator shears Receive, move, sort, and grade materials efficiently Load and pack materials into appropriate containers Carry out stock control checks and stock take when required Collect and deliver scrap material as needed Complete routine daily checks of plant and equipment Use tools and equipment safely and in line with company procedures Maintain high standards of housekeeping Comply with all health and safety requirements

Carry out other processing and operational tasks as directed by management

Skills, Knowledge & Experience Minimum 1 year experience operating excavators Knowledge of yard safety rules and methods

Qualifications WTR licence is essential Class 4 licence is an advantage but not compulsory
