Description

The Role

We are looking for a upbeat, reliable and detail-oriented Building Inspections to join our team. In this role, you will visit residential properties to conduct assessments and determine.

Key Responsibilities Conduct on-site inspections of buildings during different stages of construction and after completion Ensure compliance with local building codes, regulations, and safety standards Review building plans, specifications, and permits before inspections Identify structural issues, code violations, or safety hazards Prepare detailed inspection reports with findings and recommendations Issue approvals, notices, or stop-work orders when necessary Work closely with builders, contractors, engineers, and property owners Maintain accurate records of inspections and documentation Provide guidance on corrective actions and compliance requirements Skills & Qualifications Diploma or Degree in Building/Construction, Civil Engineering, or related field Knowledge of building codes, standards, and regulations (e.g., NZ Building Code if in New Zealand) Strong attention to detail and analytical skills Good communication and report-writing skills Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and plans Problem-solving and decision-making abilities Physical ability to inspect sites (heights, confined spaces, etc.) Experience Requirements Previous experience in construction, building inspection, or site supervision preferred Licensing or certification as a Building Inspector (if required by local authority) Working Conditions Combination of office work and on-site inspections Exposure to construction environments and weather conditions Travel to multiple sites may be required

Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently

Excellent communication and reporting skills

Full New Zealand driver’s licence

Basic computer skills and ability to use inspection software/apps
