PLASTERERS - ANTARCTICA

Tradestaff Global is actively seeking applications from experienced PLASTERERS for short-term deployments to McMurdo Station in Antarctica. Deployments are expected to commence ASAP and run through to approximately May 2026. This is a unique opportunity to spend a short period of time working on the ice, in one of the most remote and remarkable environments in the world.

WHAT’S ON OFFER?

• Flights provided from any major NZ airport.
• Food, shared accommodation, travel insurance provided.
• $66.11 per hour. Contract basis, paid fortnightly in NZ$, paid for 54 hours a week.
• All PPE Supplied.

WHAT’S THE JOB?

Tasks will include all aspects of commercial plastering such as fixing & stopping plasterboard, setting, jointing, sanding, installing trims, patching & repairs, and achieving a high-quality finish ready for paint. Work will be repetitive at times, so attention to detail, consistency & pride in workmanship are essential. Proven experience in plastering is required.

WHAT’S THE CATCH?

• Due to travel restrictions, ONLY New Zealand and US Citizens with New Zealand or US passports currently and permanently living and working in New Zealand can apply.
• Vaccinations: You need to be happy to have Flu, Tdap & MMR Vaccines.
• You’ll work long hours, six days out of seven.
• You will be on the ice the whole time. This is not a FIFO role.
• Start dates are approximate and are subject to you passing medical and dental checks, getting security clearance, your notice period and ice flight availability.
• You must pass a pre-employment drug & alcohol test.
• You need a Full Class 1 NZ Driver Licence and a clean criminal record.

• You must be prepared to travel to Tauranga for medical and dental exams. We pay for testing and flights if travelling from outside the Bay of Plenty.
