Precision Workz Engineering Ltd is a well-established engineering company specializing in repair, maintenance, and manufacturing services across a variety of industries, including marine, industrial, and commercial sectors. We are currently seeking a qualified Fitter Fabricator to join our dynamic team based in the Bay of Plenty.
Role Overview for Fabricator: As a fabricator , you will play a key role in the repair and maintenance of a wide range of equipment and machinery, including port-based machinery, commercial and private vessels, quarry equipment, and cool storage systems. In addition to service work, you will also be involved in the production of specialized components for our own manufacturing operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Fabrication of a broad range of medium to heavy components and machinery
- Mechanical fitting, assembly, and repairs of equipment
- Proven welding skills (MIG, TIG and MMAW)
- Working across various sites including ports, vessels, quarries, and industrial locations
- Ensuring compliance with health and safety standards at all times
- Contributing to continuous improvement initiatives within the workshop
Skills and Experience Required:
- Proven experience in fabrication and mechanical fitting
- Strong understanding of technical drawings and the ability to work independently
- Valid Class 1 driver’s license; F-endorsement is an advantage
- Flexibility to work extended hours as required (penal rates apply)
- A strong commitment to health and safety practices

- Proactive and self-motivated, with the ability to work both independently and within a team
- Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
- High standards of professionalism, reliability, and attention to detail
- Ability to adapt to varying work environments and client needs
Additional Requirements:
- Pre-employment medical and drug/alcohol screening will be conducted
- Applicants must be New Zealand citizens or hold permanent residency with a clean criminal record
