At Trade Assist, we're partnering with a well-established tourism and transport operation that supports travellers exploring New Zealand by road. Their focus is on keeping people moving safely, comfortably, and confidently through reliable vehicles and quality service. This role is based in Christchurch and is a short-term assignment covering holiday leave for 1 to 2 months, with an immediate start available.
You'll be working in a busy workshop environment, maintaining and repairing a fleet of vehicles to ensure they remain safe, roadworthy, and ready for use. The work is hands-on and suits an experienced mechanic who is confident on the tools and able to hit the ground running during a peak period.
What you'll be doing:
- Carrying out general mechanical repairs, servicing, and fault-finding
- Ensuring vehicles meet safety and roadworthiness standards
- Working efficiently within a workshop and fleet environment
- Supporting the wider team during a busy holiday period
What we're looking for:
- Proven workshop-based mechanical experience is a must
- Confident working on tools with minimal supervision
- Mechanical qualification is a big bonus
- Reliable and available to start ASAP
- Able to commit to a 1 to 2 month assignment
