Fitter / Turner Apprentice Tradestaff Christchurch is seeking a motivated individual to join a busy mechanical workshop in an entry-level role. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who has completed a pre-trade course or has basic mechanical workshop experience and is eager to begin a career as a Fitter and Turner.
About the Role:
- You will work in a hands-on mechanical workshop environment alongside experienced tradespeople.
- Your daily tasks will include intially assembly, and basic machine operation.
- You will gain practical experience using workshop equipment such as mills, lathes, CNC machines, and grinders.
- You will be exposed to reading and interpreting technical drawings to guide your work.
- You will assist with general workshop duties while learning the skills needed for a long-term career in the mechanical trade.
- This role offers valuable on-the-job training and the potential to move into an apprenticeship for the right candidate.
What You'll Need:
- A completed pre-trade mechanical course or entry-level workshop experience
- Strong mechanical aptitude and a willingness to learn
- A genuine interest in engineering or mechanical trades
- The ambition to pursue an apprenticeship opportunity
- Good problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- A reliable, punctual, and safety-conscious attitude
