Stone Machinist

The Role We are seeking an experienced Stone Machinist to join our production team in Christchurch. The successful candidate will have a strong background in stone fabrication and machining, with proven experience operating CAD-controlled bridge saws and stone CNC machinery. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled operator who takes pride in producing high-quality stone products while working in a modern manufacturing environment. Key Responsibilities

• Operate and program CAD-controlled bridge saws for cutting engineered stone, porcelain, and natural stone products.
• Set up, operate, and maintain stone CNC machinery.
• Read and interpret technical drawings, CAD files, and production specifications.
• Ensure accurate cutting, shaping, polishing, and finishing of stone components.
• Conduct quality control inspections throughout the manufacturing process.
• Troubleshoot machine and production issues as required.
• Perform routine machine maintenance and housekeeping.
• Work collaboratively with the production and installation teams to meet project deadlines.
• Adhere to all workplace health and safety procedures. Skills and Experience Required
• Minimum 3 years' experience in the stone benchtop or stone fabrication industry.
• Proven experience operating CAD bridge saws and stone CNC machines.
• Ability to read and interpret CAD drawings and technical plans.
• Strong understanding of stone fabrication processes and manufacturing workflows.
• High attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
• Good problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Current New Zealand work rights. Preferred Qualifications
• Experience with CNC programming and machine optimisation.
• Forklift licence (advantageous but not essential).
• Experience working with engineered stone, porcelain, and natural stone materials. What We Offer
