John Jones Steel is one of the largest and most advanced structural steel fabricating enterprises in New Zealand, with over 60 years experience. We operate throughout New Zealand, with a proven ability to successfully undertake structural steel projects of any magnitude
We have 3 workshops, 2 are in Christchurch and our 3rd is in Timaru which is where this role is based. This role is for nightshift with a roster of Sun-Thurs 6pm-6am, 45-55hrs (approx) per week. You will be working alongside a supportive team of skilled and experienced fabricators/welders/machine operators. A multi-skilled person who can operate and programme our machines would be ideal. We use Peddinghaus Plate Processor and In-line machines.
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR:
CNC Operator with Structural Steel Experience A can-do attitude Willingness to learn MUST be reliable Training can be given (for the right applicant) Interest in welding/fabrication Ability to work within a multi-cultural environment Gantry crane experience (advantageous) Willingness to do extra hours (when required) Ability to undertake physical tasks (grinding, stacking, cambering) Commitment to follow all company Health & Safety policies and procedures Ability to pass a drug and alcohol pre-employment test Genuine team player You should be fit and able bodied

This role requires a lot of lifting/bending so requires someone physically fit
