Onyx Painters is expanding, and we’re looking for skilled, reliable, and motivated painters to join our close knit crew. We have been around for over 25 years and are Master Painters Members with 2 gold awards. We specialise in high-end interior/exterior painting and also offer Venetian plastering services, delivering top-quality finishes for residential and commercial clients across wider Auckland region.
What We Offer
- $25–$33 per hour (depending on experience)
- Full-time from 7:00am – 5:00pm Monday – Friday with the option to work Saturdays.

The Role You’ll be responsible for:
- Preparing surfaces (sanding, filling, gapping) to a high standard
- Rolling, brushing, interior and exterior surfaces to a high standard
- Able to determine the correct paint/stain/varnish for surfaces
- Stripping wallpaper
- Fixing minor plastering/skim coat imperfections
- Erecting mobile scaffold/ladders
- Keeping sites tidy and communicating well with clients and the team
Requirements We’re looking for people who have:
- Minimum 1 year painting experience
- Strong attention to detail and pride in workmanship
- Physically fit and able to work off heights
- Willing to learn and take responsibilities from their mistakes
- A solid work ethic and reliable attendance
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Have a valid driver’s license
- Must be eligible to work in NZ
Bonus Skills (Not essential but great to have)
- Spray painting experience
- Ability to speak or understand basic Chinese
