Plumbing Supervisor - Lead High-End Residential & Commercial Projects
$45-$50 per hour + Vehicle + Insurance + Annual Medicals Whangārei & Surrounding Region (Paid Travel) Full-time | Mon-Fri | 45 hours per week
Our client is a well-established, family-oriented plumbing & gas contractor with 20+ staff and a strong reputation across high-end residential builds, commercial upgrades, and maintenance plumbing.
This is a hands-on supervisory position-ideal for someone who enjoys leading a team while still getting on the tools when required.
WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING
- Overseeing daily site operations across multiple plumbing projects
- Planning job stages, sequencing work, allocating labour & managing productivity
- Coordinating materials, procurement and liaising with suppliers
- Conducting site visits & ensuring high-quality installs
- Identifying variations early and working with the QS to protect margin
- Supervising apprentices and leading a positive, disciplined team culture
- Reading and interpreting architectural/hydraulic plans
- Stepping on the tools when required to support delivery
- Ensuring compliance with H&S requirements
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
- Qualified Plumber (Certifying or Tradesman) with valid PGDB licence
- Working towards or already a fully qualified Gasfitter (role includes Gasfitting)
- 2+ years running onsite crews or supervising projects
- 5+ years commercial plumbing experience
- Ability to run projects up to $250K+
- Strong practical problem-solving skills
- Ability to read/interpret construction plans
- Full Class 1 NZ Driver Licence
- Physically fit for onsite duties
