Plumbing & Gas | Maintenance & Leadership Role

We’re looking for an experienced, licensed Plumber / Gasfitter who’s ready to step into a Team Leader role and help drive quality work, strong client outcomes, and a great team culture. This role suits someone who enjoys being hands-on while also leading from the front. You might already be running your own one-man band and looking for more stability, support, and progression, or you could be an experienced tradesperson ready for the next step. You’ll play a key role in quoting and delivering maintenance work, solving problems on the ground, and supporting a small team to do their best work every day.

What you’ll be working on You’ll lead and support a small maintenance team while staying actively involved on the tools. Expect a varied, fast-paced role that includes: Quoting and managing plumbing and gas maintenance work

Troubleshooting and solving on-site problems efficiently

Running jobs from start to finish with a strong focus on quality

#Assigning work, supporting apprentices or tradespeople, and keeping jobs moving

Communicating clearly with clients and internal teams

Ensuring all work meets NZ Building Code, compliance, and Health & Safety standards

Leading by example when it comes to safety, professionalism, and workmanship

Clients feel looked after and confident in the work delivered

Your team knows what they’re doing, where they’re going, and feels supported

Problems are solved proactively rather than escalated late

You balance hands-on trade work with leadership and planning

What you’ll need

Current NZ Plumbing and Gasfitting practising licence

Proven experience in maintenance plumbing and gas work

Confidence quoting work and dealing directly with clients

Ability to lead, support, and coordinate a small team

Strong problem-solving skills and calm decision-making

Full NZ driver’s licence

Good communication skills and basic computer literacy

NZ residency
