EXPERIENCED ROOFER

Purpose

The installation of roofs on residential and commercial buildings using a variety of materials, primarily long run and corrugate roofing iron, ensuring all work is completed with due regard for quality, productivity, and safety.

Specific Duties and Responsibilities

• Measure and cut roofing materials to size.
• Install long run roofing iron and associated flashings.
• Remove and replace old or damaged roofing materials (excluding asbestos).
• Install spouting, downpipes, and roof insulation where required.
• Set up and dismantle safety equipment in accordance with site requirements.
• Maintain a clean and tidy worksite, removing rubbish throughout the day.
• Maintain tools, equipment, and company vehicles in good working order.
• Work efficiently to meet project timelines and quality standards.
• Provide a high level of service to clients and maintain strong customer relationships.
• Act at all times as a professional representative of the company.

Skills, Experience & Education

Required

• Proven roofing experience (minimum 3 years preferred).
• Good physical condition and balance, with no fear of heights.
• Sound knowledge of roofing hazards and health & safety requirements.
• Ability to work at heights on flat and inclined surfaces.
• Competence in erecting safety harness systems and using safety equipment.
• Ability to follow oral and written instructions.
• Skilled in the use of roofing tools and equipment.
• Full driver’s licence

Desirable

• Knowledge of New Zealand Building Code and Roofing Code of Practice.
• Ability to read and interpret building plans.
• Site Safe passport.
• Experience across both residential and commercial projects.
