About the Role We are seeking an experienced Fire Alarm Technician—ideally a registered electrician or hold an EST electrical licence—to join our growing team. In this role, you will be responsible for inspecting, testing, maintaining, and repairing fire alarm and evacuation systems across various client sites in Auckland. You will also support emergency lighting remedial work and assist with annual fire alarm inspections.
Key Responsibilities *Perform routine inspection, testing, and maintenance of fire alarm and evacuation systems. *Conduct annual fire alarm inspections in accordance with compliance requirements. *Carry out reactive maintenance and diagnose system faults. *Replace or repair fire detection and alarm components. *Perform emergency lighting remedial works as required. *Prepare defect reports, quotations, and recommendations for remedial work. *Assist in building and managing fire alarm service portfolios. *Perform monthly fire alarm panel testing and respond to system call-outs. *Communicate effectively with clients to ensure their needs are met. *Adhere to all safety standards and maintain a safe work environment.
What You’ll Bring *Trade Certificate in Electrical Engineering, Fire Protection, or a related field (preferred). *EST or Full Practising Electrical Licence (preferred but not essential). *Experience working with commercial fire detection and alarm systems. *Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills. *A valid driver’s licence and the right to work in New Zealand.
