Location: McMurdo Station, Antarctica, Full Time, On Site, Summer season (Estimated October 2026 - Feb 2027)
This is a full on-site deployment. You will live and work on the ice for the duration of the assignment.

Key Responsibilities
- Perform sheet metal fabrication, assembly, and installation on maintenance and construction projects
- Lay out and fabricate ductwork and building components using mechanical fasteners or welding
- Carry out a wide range of sheet metal work for heating and ventilation systems using forming tools and equipment
- Assist with insulation projects when required
- Respond to emergency service calls during and outside normal working hours
- Accurately document hours worked, materials used, and work completed
- Communicate job progress and material or labour requirements to the Supervisor
- Work from job plans, drawings, schematics, blueprints, manuals, and specifications
- Participate in community duties such as cleaning, recycling, and general station upkeep
- Perform other duties as required
Required Qualifications and Experience
- MUST have valid working rights in New Zealand (No sponsorship is available for this role, WHV is acceptable with relevant experience only)
- Successful completion of medical, dental, drug screening, and background checks
- Minimum three years of documented experience in sheet metal fabrication and assembly
- Ability to read and interpret drawings, specifications, and diagrams
- Valid New Zealand driving licence
- Willingness and ability to deploy to Antarctica for extended periods
